Last updated: January 2026 | Read time: 8 minutes
Be respectful, be kind, and treat everyone with dignity.
We're all here to learn and connect. If something feels wrong, report it. We've got your back.
Welcome to Mac Admins Europe
Mac Admins Europe is a community-driven conference for Apple device administrators across Europe and beyond. We are committed to providing a safe, friendly, and inclusive environment for all participants — whether you're attending in person, participating online, or engaging with us on social media.
This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Mac Admins Slack Code of Conduct, which has been refined over years of community collaboration. We encourage you to review these guidelines to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
Summary
All are welcome to participate at Mac Admins Europe as long as these principles are followed:
- Be a valuable, positive contributor to this community
- Be respectful of other people's rights, ideas, and opinions
- Treat others fairly, with dignity and respect, regardless of their protected characteristics
- Ask people to stop if you are bothered
- Respect privacy
- If you can't resolve an issue, contact the conference organizers
We expect participants to follow this Code of Conduct at all conference venues, social events, and online spaces associated with Mac Admins Europe.

Note: Holding a protected characteristic does not exempt anyone from complying with this Code of Conduct. Actions or expressions that violate the code will be addressed regardless of the belief system motivating them.
1. Respect
Mac Admins Europe is an inclusive environment based on treating all individuals respectfully, regardless of any protected characteristics.
Respectful behavior includes:
- Being considerate, kind, constructive, and helpful
- Avoiding demeaning, discriminatory, harassing, trolling, hateful, or threatening behavior
- Giving due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, and traditions of others
- Being aware that English is not everyone's first language
If you're unclear whether a communication or action is respectful, ask a conference organizer. We'd rather hear from you than hear about something after the fact.
2. Harassment-Free
Mac Admins Europe is dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
- Offensive comments related to any protected characteristic
- Sexual images in public spaces
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following
- Harassing photography or recording
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events
- Physical contact without consent or after a request to stop
- Unwelcome sexual attention
- Hate speech or purposeful psychological manipulation
- Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior
If somebody reports that they are feeling harassed by you, do not dismiss them — leave them alone.
3. Privacy
Respect the privacy of fellow attendees. You must not reveal personally identifying information about any participant without their consent, including:
- Home or work address and telephone numbers
- Identities of family members or relationships
- Employer (if not publicly stated)
- Real name (if not publicly stated)
- Gender/identity or other characteristics (if not publicly stated)
For attribution of content shared at the conference, please request permission from the originator. If you don't receive consent, credit "Mac Admins Europe" as the source.
4. Be Considerate
This is a diverse community with people from various backgrounds and experience levels. Before engaging in discussions:
- Listen first and understand the context
- Recognize that advice from one person reflects their experience, not absolute truth
- Be patient with newcomers and those learning
- Remember that we all continue to learn at every level of expertise
5. Be Authentic
It is forbidden to impersonate an individual or pretend to represent a company. Be genuine in your interactions and represent yourself honestly.
6. Resolve Peacefully
We believe that peer-to-peer discussions, feedback, and corrections can help build a stronger, safer, and more welcoming community.
If you see someone violating this Code of Conduct, you may respectfully point them to the specific part they are violating. Do not engage in arguments — contact an organizer if needed.
Should you catch yourself behaving disrespectfully, listen intently, own up to your words and actions, and apologize accordingly. No one is perfect, and how you handle mistakes matters.
7. Reporting Incidents
If you feel that you are being harassed and feel comfortable speaking with the offender, please inform them that they have affected you negatively. Often, the offending behavior is unintentional.
If you don't feel comfortable speaking directly with the offender for any reason, please report violations directly to a conference organizer. Conference staff can be identified by their staff badges.
You can also reach us via email at conduct@macadmins-eu.org.
Conference staff will help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe.
8. Consequences
If the organizers determine that a participant is violating any part of this Code of Conduct, they may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from the conference without a refund.
We will seek to resolve conflicts peacefully and in a manner that is positive for the community. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.
9. Scope
This Code of Conduct applies to all Mac Admins Europe conference venues and conference-related social events, as well as online spaces such as:
- The conference venue and all sessions
- Social events and after-parties
- Conference Slack channels and Discord
- Social media interactions related to the conference
